Welcome to Schenectady’s French restaurant!

Francophiles Andy and Heather Chestnut lovingly reproduce the enchanting ambiance of the French countryside in downtown Schenectady.

Pronounced “Shay Nou”, and meaning “our house” or “our home” in French, Schenectady’s only authentic French-inspired restaurant welcomes guests from near and far into a restored c.1875 house, where each room embraces its own unique colour theme, highlighted by exquisite mismatched French country fabrics, antique furniture, and original French artworks. The bar room, with traditional French zinc bar top, and second floor lounge, both feature functioning fireplaces in-season.

Whether you choose the first floor main dining room, garden room, or bar room, or the second floor library or lounge, you’ll be greeted by large windows, comfortable seating, custom Mohawk Valley reclaimed wood tabletops, and a talented staff dedicated to providing guests with a delightfully memorable experience time and time again.

Our Menu

Chez Nous’s French Country Harvestfare™ embraces the seasonality of local and regional provisions, while staying true to the traditional cuisines of southwest, northwest, central, and east-central France, Suisse Romande, and just a bit of Provence.

In addition to the fine dining menu, we offer a lighter fare menu available exclusively at our Zinc Bar or our seasonal outdoor patio.
