Wine is a fundamental part of French cuisine. France, with its varied climates, soils and topography has been a center of wine production since at least the Roman conquest over two thousand years ago. Chez Nous’ wines were selected with Chez Nous’ “French and local” concept in mind. So, outside of a few New York State offerings, the wines come from various regions of France. Our lists have been organized alphabetically based on variety of the lead grape. (French winemakers often blend varieties, though strict rules govern what combinations are allowable for each appellation). The idea is to help those unfamiliar with how French wines are labeled, but who are used to drinking, say, Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir, to easily find something they will enjoy. “By the Glass” options are also available by the bottle (glass and bottle price separated by a “/”; “Bottle only” wines are listed separately and they are not available by the glass.
